Today is the first day of the rest of my journey

I can’t believe it. It’s really now. The car’s packed with everything I own. Draga hugs me and makes me promise to drive carefully.

Today is the first day of a journey that will take me half around the world. I’ll drive trough seven countries - Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands - fly from Amsterdam to the United States where I will board a cruise ship which will sail around South America, visiting Antarctica and the Amazon River, then cross the Caribbean and the Atlantic to Africa and Europe.

That’s five continents. All will take about four months.
